How I Got Here
It's Never Too Late to Follow Your Dream
I am a playwright and theatre director turned historical fiction writer and writing coach. I believe that our most profound chapters often begin long after we expect them to. Mine certainly has.
I'm a late-blooming writer, proof that it's never too late to pursue the dream that's been quietly waiting inside you.
Although storytelling has always been part of my life, my path to becoming an author wasn't a straight one. I spent many years writing plays, directing, and producing theatre before returning to the dream I'd carried since childhood—to write novels that transport readers, illuminate the past, and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.
My passion for historical fiction grew from a desire to preserve stories that might otherwise be forgotten. Through my novels, I hope to honor the courage, perseverance, and hope that have shaped generations before us while reminding readers that even in life's darkest moments, kindness and resilience can light the way.
Returning to school later in life to earn a degree in Creative Writing—and later an MFA—taught me that dreams don't have an expiration date. That experience shaped not only my writing but also my desire to help others find their own voices.
Whether I'm researching my next novel or coaching aspiring writers, my goal is the same: to encourage people to believe in themselves, tell the stories only they can tell, and pursue the dreams they've been putting off for far too long.
